28th January 2025: Latest News
The majority of our Wine Club Members have voted for Deer Park Wines as their chosen venue for our 50th anniversary celebrations on Tuesday 19th August 2025.
50th Anniversary
Gotherington Wine Club was formed in 1975 and 2025 is our 50th year. The first AGM of the then Gotherington Wine Makers took place on Thursday 11th November 1976 when 17 members were present. This year we plan to hold our 50th anniversary on August 19th at one of two venues, The Hotel du Vin in Cheltenham or Deer Park Wines in Eckington.
The decision as to which of these venues we will be attending to celebrate our 50th will be chosen by our Wine Club Members.
Meetings
We hold 9 Wine Club meetings in the Village Hall on the third Tuesday of the month (doors open from 19.30), picnic in the park in July, summer outing in August and Christmas party in December.
Membership Fees
Membership fees for 2025 remain at £25.00 per person and entrance fees are £5.00 for members and £10.00 for guests. After two guest visits we feel that on the third visit the visitor should become a member. The membership fee will be calculated depending on the time of year joining.
Once a member, you pay just £5 entrance fee on the night which includes wine tasting of 6 wines, a light Ploughman’s Supper and a raffle ticket for a bottle of wine!
It’s a great starting place to meet other people in the Village so we would highly recommend our Wine Club to newcomers.

Our 2019 Summer outing to the Black Country Museum..
This years trip to the Black Country Museum was a huge success and great fun. Some people were a little troublesome though and needed a good whack to keep them in order in the Victorian Classroom….Chairman!
